In 1950 almost 90% of the energy produced was from coal. By 1990 coal is down to less than 5% while nuclear power is at almost 70%.

TGV

I love these mini books - you pull the tag that is sticking out on the right and then.....
you see this.
France has some of the fastest trains in the world. TGV trains speed along at up to 300km per hour.

Guess the connection

Can you guess the connection between "kitty" and "piglet"?
Boules.
In bowls the jack is sometimes called a "kitty" and in petanque it is sometimes called a "piglet".

Julius Caesar

Yes, this is a part of our study on France - when it was called Gaul.

We went to the library this morning and Mum found 2 Asterix books for me. I enjoyed it so much I have already finished the first one (in just one day).

Region Ultimate Challenge

My day at Region Ultimate Challenge.
Saturday 19th September
Today when I woke up I was so excited. When we got there I had to find my group. There were so many people. We made butter, had our faces painted, made slime, played with a parachute and had a potato sack race, climbed through a spider web and after lunch all the Brownies had to go in a tent and try not to go past the pole in the middle. On the way home Mum asked what I liked best. I said I LOVED it all. It was an absolutely lovely day I will never forget.

Tour de France

Each year they have a different route. The race covers 4,000km and lasts 3 weeks. I love the advert with the yellow shirt pulled into the shape of France. The leader of each day wears a yellow shirt.
