The English actually started Privateering but eventually the French were doing it too.
Before we started this France study I had read about Adoniram Judson and how he was captured by French Privateers on his way to England. He became a famous missionary to the Burmese. He translated the Bible into Burmese and his Burmese-English dictionary is still used today.
Nana said there is NO WAY she would go on a train under the sea. Even though she hates flying she said she would rather fly. I told her she could take the ferry though - that would probably be the least scary.
We have started our French Lapbook. We have done all the reading and now will start on minibooks. I have made notes of information that I want to put in. Mum came up with this good idea to make the whole lapbook look like the French flag.
Today I went to Lynn. We made a flower saucer. Then we went to the shop and I got an ice-cream and a pony magazine. Then we went home and had lunch. After lunch we went to tail the lambs. It took ages. I had to chase a lamb back. Then I went home. I had so much fun. It was a lovely day.
We have started a narration station and my first task was to pretend I was the main character and write a journal entry.
Journal entry of Laura from “The Long Winter” Pa was at the shop today and an Indian came in and warned everyone that there was going to be a blizzard that would last for months. Pa said we have to move to town. I do not want to go to town because then I will have to go to school because Ma wants me to be a teacher. I wish Mary was not blind because then I would not have to be a teacher. Mary would love to be a teacher and she loves school.
